Days beyond measure
This piece was made for CoCA's 24 Hour Marathon event. I wanted to make heavy use of graphite, and to do so using simple mark repeated over and over. The title is a reference to the whole looking like a day tally, only with every day the same. The underdrawing incorporates elements from the golden record aboard Voyager 1 which entered interstellar space in August 2012.
Days Beyond Measure was assembled in 24 hours, but the graphite transfers were pre-fabricated in the week before the event.
